Sadly neither of us originates from the Cotswolds! We were both brought up in Scotland but have spent many years wandering round the UK and overseas before settling permanently in the Cotswolds. Weare the only thing about Cotswold Gifts that is not designed, created or produced in the Cotswolds! However we are definitely inspired by the region and hope that this shows in the products we have selected for our online shop. We were both finding it a struggle to shop with reluctant children in tow.

I always dreamt of owning my own shop. After travelling, studying at University, working in Youth Work and hospitality for a number of years, I was lucky enough to grab the opportunity to openMeggie's, my first little gift shop. We spent a few weeks restoring an old storage room (more like a dumping ground) at The Falcon Inn, filling skip after skip. Then the fun started, the shopping! I went to trade shows and started contacting local crafters to build up Meggie's stock.
Shop owner Pete Blythe came indoors leaving behind his landscape gardening for a somewhat drier career. His vision being to open a High Street shop and web site selling products of beauty, style, alittle bit different, things that you can only find in an independent shop. Sourcing products from as close as 100 metres up the road to all around the world has created a shop packed with intrigue, fun and beauty.
