About the Business
House of Harris is a family business run by the Harris' husband and wife team Chris and Charlotte (that's me!) and our three little helpers Emily, Chloe and Jack. Started in 2012 our online gift shop has grown from a small cupboard in our home in Devon, to our own warehouse where we prepare orders for thousands of customers a month across the UK and beyond. So.why did we start House of Harris? Like lots of young families we were faced with the decision of whether I should return to my office job and struggle to pay for two lots of nursery fees, or stay at home and not earn.
The choice was financially obvious, I needed to work from home, and find a job with hours that I could fit around the little people and Chris' unpredictable hours serving in the Royal Marines. This is not an easy task! It was clear that working for myself was the only option, when we realised this we decided instead to start our own business, but doing what?
